FLORENTIA IKONOMIDOU
"Peace March with Alice". In this τriptych animation,the plot is formed by the images themselves. The way in which the images interact and succeed each other seeks a flow and coherence between them, enhancing the sense of dreaming and transport into an emotional and subconscious world. Once again Dahlgren Ekonomides' music, written over the animations, adds depth, atmosphere, and emotion, creating turbulence and highlighting important moments. (Fl. IK)
The video-animation Peace March with Alice is a different kind of commentary on war. In a bombing environment where in the background we can see monuments of global political heritage - we can admire it in the independent work My Background - it begins with the opening of a book, a procession, with Alice herself ("in wonderland") playing the violin, and, as in "The Enchanted Flute", followed, springing out of the book, one by one, by her companions: hybrid monsters of intense sexuality, as if out of medieval manuscripts. Alice's fairy-tale Peace March ends with the book's conclusion, promising us that the group will reunite elsewhere when new pages of books are opened.( IreneLeontakianakou, Art Historian)
«Πορεία ειρήνης με την Αλίκη». Σε αυτό το τρίπτυχο animation, η πλοκή σχηματίζεται από τις ίδιες τις εικόνες. Ο τρόπος με τον οποίο οι εικόνες αλληλοεπιδρούν και διαδέχονται η μία την άλλη επιδιώκει μια ροή και μια συνοχή ανάμεσά τους, ενισχύοντας την αίσθηση του ονείρου και της μεταφοράς σε έναν συναισθηματικό και υποσυνείδητο κόσμο. Για άλλη μια φορά η μουσική της Dahlgren Ekonomides, γραμμένη πάνω στα animation, προσθέτει βάθος, ατμόσφαιρα και συναίσθημα, δημιουργώντας αναταράξεις και υπογραμμίζοντας σημαντικές στιγμές. (Φ.ΟΙ)
Το video-animation Πορεία ειρήνης με την Αλίκη αποτελεί ένα διαφορετικού είδους σχόλιο πάνω στον πόλεμο. Σε ένα περιβάλλον βομβαρδισμών όπου στο βάθος διακρίνουμε μνημεία παγκόσμιας πολιτιτισμικής κληρονομιάς -μπορούμε να το θαυμάσουμε στο ανεξάρτητο έργο My Background- ξεκινάει με το άνοιγμα ενός βιβλίου, μια πομπή, με την ίδια την Αλίκη («στη χώρα των θαυμάτων») να παίζει βιολί, και όπως στον «Μαγεμένο αυλό», την ακολουθούν, ξεπηδώντας από το βιβλίο, ένας-ένας οι σύντροφοί της: υβριδικά τέρατα με έντονη σεξουαλικότητα βγαλμένα λες από μεσαιωνικά χειρόγραφα. Η παραμυθένια Πορεία ειρήνης με την Αλίκη τελειώνει με το κλείσιμο του βιβλίου, δίνοντάς μας την υπόσχεση ότι η παρέα θα ξανασμίξει αλλού, όταν ανοίξουν καινούργιες σελίδες βιβλίων.( Ειρήνη Λεοντακιανάκου, ιστορικός Τεχνης)
